Karnataka tasted their first victory as they defeated Hockey Bhopal 4-1 in the 4th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship, while Odisha and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) registered cruised to second consecutive wins, here today.
Karnataka's Ramya N (34th minute) stroked the first goal just before the half time to help her side take a 1-0 lead at half-time in the group B contest.
The second period saw Karnataka piercing in three goals in just eight minutes through Sushma C G (43rd), skipper Sandhya H P (47th) and Niha's (50th) at Chamundi Vihar Hockey Ground.

In a Pool D match, Hockey Odisha registered their second win in a row as they defeated Punjab 3-0. Hockey Odisha took control of the match early when skipper Ambika Toppo (9th minute) converted a penalty corner to open team's account.
Second goal also came from a penalty corner strike by Ashmita Barla (33rd), and was followed by Sarojini Ekka's field goal in the 54th minute.
In another Pool D match, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy hammered Delhi 5-0. For MPHA, Rakhi Prajapati (8th and 25th minute) and Anuja Singh (54th and 66th) slammed two goals each while Preeti Dubey scored in the 61st min.
Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd beat Bihar 7-0 in Pool D.
