A high-level panel of the Election Commission (EC), led by CEC O P Rawat, will be in Karnataka tomorrow to review the poll preparedness in the state.

Chief Election Commissioner Rawat will be accompanied by Election Commissioners Sunil Arora and Ashok Lavasa during the day-long visit to Bengaluru, official sources said.

The south Indian state is expected to go to polls in April-May.

The poll panel will meet election, administrative and police authorities in the state and review the poll arrangements, they said.

The implementation of anti-black money measures to check illegal inducements in the run-up to the polls will also be reviewed.

The tenure of the 224-member state assembly comes to an end in May.
