Karpoor Chandra Kulish Int'l Journalism Awards for Pubby, Ryle

Senior journalists Manu Pubby and Gerard Ryle were jointly awarded the Karpoor Chandra Kulish International Journalism Awards for 2013.

Former Chief Justice of India R M Lodha and Chief Editor of the Rajasthan Patrika Group Gulab Kothari handed over the awards to Pubby and Ryle of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists at an event here yesterday.

Ryle won the award for his 'Secrecy for Sale: Inside the Global Offshore Money Maze', which reveal thousands of names who use offshore tax havens.

Pubby and his team at The Indian Express were awarded for their investigative reporting on the VVIP chopper deal between India and Anglo-Italian defence firm AgustaWestland.
 

The award, given in the memory of Patrika Group's founder Karpoor Chandra Kulish every year, carries a monetary reward of US Dollar 11,000.
