DMK chief M Karunanidhi's great grandson Manu Ranjith and actor Vikra's daughter Akshita entered into wedlock here today.
Ranjith is the son of noted industrialist C K Ranganathan, who is married to Thenmozhi, daughter of M K Muthu, the eldest son of the 93-year old DMK patriarch.
Ranganathan is the Chairman and Managing Director of fast moving consumer goods major Cavinkare Ltd.
Vikram's daughter Akshita and Ranjith are collegemates and their engagement was held in July last.
The couple along with their family members called on Karunanidhi at his residence here and sought his blessings.
Photographs of the newly wed couple along with their parents posing with Karunanidhi were widely circulated in the social media and also aired on TV channels.
Ranganathan's brother C K Kumaravel also shared some pictures of the wedding on the twitter.
"family is what happens when 2 people fall in love. My brother's son Manu and Vikram's daughter Akshitha will get formally wed in a moment", he tweeted ahead of the wedding.
