Seeking prompt action by the Election Commission, DMK president M Karunanidhi today alleged that the ruling AIADMK was distributing money to voters in bypoll-bound Srirangam assembly constituency.
"Money has been distributed by the ruling party to voters last night... The district administration, the police and the Election Commission have joined hands and have done this," Karunanidhi alleged in a statement.
Though the Chief Electoral Officer intended to conduct a fair election, the second-level officers posted in Srirangam were acting on the wishes of the ruling party, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam patriarch alleged.
