Karunanidhi, Rajinikanth congratulate Sindhu

Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth and DMK chief M Karunanidhi tonight greeted shuttler P V Sindhu for winning silver medal in the women's singles in Rio Olympics.

"Hats off to you #PVSindhu ....I have become a great fan of yours... Congratulations !", Rajinikanth said in a tweet.

Karunanidhi extended his greetings to Sindhu and also to wrestler Sakshi Malik, who brought India's first medal in the current Olympics with a bronze finish.

"I convey my hearty greetings to the brave girls who played with self confidence @Pvsindhu1 in Badminton and @SakshiMalik in wrestling", he said.

"@Pvsindhu1 @SakshiMalikadded glory to the nation and women of the country", he added.
 

DMK Treasurer and leader of the opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly, M K Stalin tweeted, "Congratulations! @Pvsindhu1 You have made us proud!! #Rio2016".

Sindhu lost the final 21-19 12-21 15-21 to world number one from Spain Carolina Marin in the final to settle for a historic silver medal.
