A person injured in the recent Kasganj violence was blinded in one of his eyes despite efforts by doctors at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital here.
31-year-old Mohamed Akram was injured in the eye when he was caught in the violence while travelling from Aligarh to Lakhimpur Khiri on Friday night.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Ahtesham told PTI, "Despite all efforts, we could not save his eye which was injured by a sharp object. He is, however, out of danger and recovering from other injuries."
Besides Akram, another man, Naushad, had received a gunshot wound on his leg during the Kasganj violence was undergoing treatment at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College here. He too is out of danger, officials said.
