Rajendra chaired a high level security meeting of south Kashmir range officers at Anantnag during which investigation of cases and security of panches and sarpanches in the area were discussed, an official spokesman said.
"The DGP emphasised on making necessary arrangements to prevail a sense of security among the panches and sarpanches", the spokesman said.
Posters emerged in parts of Shopian district day before yesterday asking the Panches and Sarpanches to resign from their posts or face dire consequences.
Rajendra said effective domination in the area based on analysis is required and joint patrolling should be intensified to keep the activities of suspicious elements under surveillance.
The DGP also stressed for close coordination among all security agencies for maintaining continuous vigil on the activities of anti-national elements to foil their nefarious designs.
