Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, who shot to fame as the face of youth anger in Kashmir during protests in 2008 and 2010, has been released after four years of detention under Public Safety Act (PSA).
Bhat was released from Central Jail here after he was granted bail by a local court yesterday, his counsel Shafaqat Hussain said today.
Hussain said Bhat was being tried in a case relating to organising protests during the summer agitation of 2010. "He was bailed out by the court of Sub-Registrar Srinagar in the case FIR No. 39/2010," he said.
