Kashmiri 'Rista' and 'Lauki Nazakat' figured as part of the spread at Rashtrapati Bhavan for the dinner of the new council of ministers headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The customary dinner was hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee for the new government last evening.

In view of the dining preferences of the new Prime Minister, a lavish spread of vegetarian dishes figured at the dinner.

'Tandoori Aaloo', 'Sabz Shami kebab', 'Paneer Rehana' and 'Lauki (bottle gourd) Nazakat' were exclusively made for the vegetarian guests at the dinner which was attended by Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State and officials of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The dinner also included 'Punjabi Kadi Pakora', 'Bedami Aaloo', a Brij delicacy, 'Bharwa Tinda' (round gourd), 'Sitaphal ki Sabzi' (Pumpkin) and 'Keoti Daal' ( mix of lentils).

For non-vegetarians, 'Rista' (meatballs), a delicacy of Kashmir, figured prominently along with 'Galoti Kebab', 'Patrani macchi' (a Parsi dish) and 'Murg Korma' (Chicken).

The guests were served vegetable corn soup for starters and pineapple 'halwa' and 'jalebi with rabri' as sweet dish at the end.
