Kashmiri youths picked up near Trishul airbase, later released

Two Kashmiri youths were picked up from near the Trishul air base here as police found their activities suspicious but they were let off after questioning.

The youths, who identified themselves as Gulzar and Mustak, were selling warm clothes to a shopkeeper when they were picked up by Izzatnagar police yesterday and were questioned, SP city Sameer said today.

Identity cards recovered from them were being verified from the Jammu and Kashmir government, he said, adding that the youths have been set free but an eye will be kept on them.

The youths said that they come here every year from October to January to sell clothes.
 

Sources said the two were also questioned by intelligence agencies.

Following the Pathankot terror attack, an alert had been sounded at the Trishul air base here.
