Rajiv C Lochan, a management expert, has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kasturi and Sons Ltd, publishers of the The Hindu and Group newspapers.
Appointed with effect from June 1, Lochan (43) will lead all non-editorial operations of the company and join the board of directors of Kasturi and Sons, the group said in a press release today.
Earlier, Lochan was a partner with McKinsey & Company and the founding location manager of the management consulting firm's practice in Chennai.
Lochan graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and has advanced degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Columbia Business School.
"Rajiv brings to his challenging role as Managing Director and CEO of Kasturi and Sons Ltd dynamism and social awareness, combined with a winning record as a professional who has led in driving performance and transforming the culture of large organisations in step with rapidly changing times.
"We are excited about this change at the helm of our business operations," Kasturi and Sons Chairman N Ram and Co-Chairman N Murali said in the statement.
