Puducherry Lt Governor Virendra Kataria today asked people to devote themselves to follow the ideals preached by Jesus Christ.
Extending his best wishes and greetings to the people of Union Territory of Puducherry on the eve of Christmas, the Lt Governor said "Christmas is an occasion to cherish the ideals of love, compassion, tolerance and brotherhood preached by Jesus Christ."
There should be total dedication and devotion to these ideals, he said.
Chief Minister N Rangasamy said Christmas marked an occasion for promotion of humane qualities and adherence to virtues preached by Jesus Christ.People should sink all their differences and dedicate themselves to the ideals preached by Jesus Christ, he added.
Ministers, legislators and leaders of various political parties greeted the people on the occasion of the celebration of Christmas.
