Rajan is survived by his wife and a daughter.
Due to age-related illness, the Kathkali maestro was not able to perform since the last seven years and the end came yesterday, his family said.
Rajan had performed in several stages in India and abroad and was rated as one of the finest exponents of Kathakali, a traditional dance of Kerala.
The cremation was held this morning.
