After losing the first set, Katherine turned it around in the fifth game of the second set, breaking Sunkara to lead 3-2.

Katherine grew on to become more consistent, moved better and served better as she made Rishika play more and kept retrieving everything.

From an attacking first set, Rishika fell into Katherine's trap of playing too defensively and the third seed eventually succumbed.

Aiming for a double, Rishika had heartbreak in store for her as she lost there too.

In the doubles final, Kyra Shroff and Arantxa Andrady easily beat the pair of Rishika and Rutuja Bhosale in 6-4 6-4.

Rishika, in the end, had to be content with the 'Most Improved Player' title.
