'The Ugly Truth' star Katherine Heigl has filed a USD 6 million lawsuit against a drug store alleging that they used her unauthorised photograph for promotional purposes.
In her lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan against drug store chain Duane Reade, Heigl, 35, claims that a member of the paparazzi took a photograph of her leaving the NYC store last month, which showed her carrying Duane Reade bags, reported E!Online.
She has accused the store of using her photo for promotional purposes without her consent.

"Love a quick Duane Reade run? Even Katie Heigl can't resist shopping. NYC's favourite drugstore," read a tweet posted March 18 on Duane Read's Twitter account.
"The Heigl photograph is a typical 'paparazzi' shot, depicting plaintiff walking on the street in New York City, in a private moment looking away from the camera," read the papers filed under the lawsuit.
"Use of plaintiff's image under these circumstances improperly exploited plaintiff's name and likeness, as a celebrity, for defendant's commercial advertising and purposes of trade, without authorisation," it further read.
