Kathmandu plays host to Indo-Nepal crafts festival

Inaugurating the India-Nepal Crafts Festival here, he said the exhibition can open new avenues of opportunities to enhance economic development of both the countries.

Yadav said there was need to forge cooperation between the two countries to boost local handicraft and cottage industries.

Speaking on the occasion, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad said both India and Nepal have their unique art, culture and architecture and such festivals provide platform to the craftsmen of both countries to learn from each other's knowledge and experience.

India has recently provided training opportunities to 22 craftsmen from Nepal in Ahmedabad and hoped that in future there will be more exchange and cultural cooperation between the two countries, he said.

 

The six-day event is being organised by the Indian Embassy and Nepal Tourism Board in collaboration with Department of Tourism, Goa and Goa Handicrafts Association on the premises of Nepal Academy.
