Hundreds of villagers along with ministers and leaders today bade tearful adieu to Arjun Chib and his wife Vandana, who were killed in chopper crash near Katra yesterday.
25-year-old Arjun Singh Chib, a resident in the Gho Manasa area in the outskirts of Jammu city, had married Vandana (22) on November 18 following they left home to pay obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi.
The newly-wed and their cousin were among the seven persons killed in the helicopter crash in Katra yesterday.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar attended the funeral ceremony of Arjun and his wife Vandana.
The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with the family members of the deceased family and expressed sympathies with them.
Singh said that the government would provide every possible support to the family.
MPs Shamser Singh Manhas and Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLA Katra, Ajay Nanda, Vice-Chairman Kissan Advisory Board, D S Chib and several other political leaders were also present at the cremation site of the couple performed at their native village Gho Manhasan in Jammu.
Singh, while interacting with the media persons, said that the Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) has already initiated a probe in the matter and on its recommendations necessary measures would be put in place to avoid recurrence of such tragic incidents in future.
Arjun's family members said that the family first saw the news about the helicopter crash on television after which they received a phone call from the police informing them that their son and his wife and the cousin were killed in the accident.
