I-League has been an elusive title for East Bengal and their new recruit Katsumi Yusa hoped his side could win their maiden trophy in the upcoming season.
"I am concentrating on our first game of I-League and derby is not in my mind now. My target is to win the I League for the club," the Japanese midfielder, who won the I-League with arch-rivals Mohun Bagan, said today.
"Although I have played for Mohun Bagan for the last four seasons I will give my best for East Bengal this season. It will take me three to four weeks to get to my full fitness and acclimatise with the team. We have a very experienced coach in Khalid Jamil and I have full confidence that we will reach the peak soon," he added.
The I-League will run simultaneously with the Indian Super League from next month.
