The 27-year-old 'Teenage Dream' hitmaker was awarded for her succesful year in singing in Culver City, California, on Thursday, reported Contactmusic.
"Katy's music was absolutely everywhere over the past year and her dominance of the singles charts is a nearly unprecedented accomplishment. She has unquestionably blossomed into a true global superstar and has earned this award in every sense of the word," said NARM chairman Jim Donio.
Singer Lionel Richie was also the star of the night as he received the prestigious Chairman's Award for Sustained Creative Achievement.
