Kaurvika, Asha lead the field after day 1 at golf meet

Host club's Kaurvika Kumar and Asha Doshi led the field in their respective categories after day one of the All India 4th BPGC Open Ladies Amateur Golf Championship here today.

Kaurvika of Bombay Presidency Golf Club, led the bunch of amateurs in the 0-24 handicap category.

Carrying a minus 10 handicap, she came in with a gross total of 77 (38 outward leg and 39 inward leg) that give her a one-stroke lead over second placed Ivana Kaushal Shah (78, minus 13 handicap) at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in Chembur.

In third place from a field of 28, with a card of 81, was Madhavi Reddy Manthani of Bangalore.
 

In the other category (25-36 handicap), Doshi (minus 25 handicap) returned a card of 99 to lead the bunch of 24 participants.

Two strokes behind was Shikha Rajkumar, who carded 101 and a further three strokes adrift in third place was Bela Dalal.
