Kaurvika clinches amateur golf title

Leading the bunch right through, host club's Kaurvika Kumar brushed aside the challenge of Ivana Kaushal Shah by 14 strokes to clinch the title in the 0-24 handicap section of the 4th BPGC Open All India Ladies Amateur Golf Championship here today.

Kaurvika carded a three-day aggregate of 231 while her Bombay Presidency Golf Club mate Ivana returned a tally of 245 to take second place in the three-day event.

Finishing in third place, from among 28 competitors, a further two strokes adrift was Shiraz Singh (247).

Today, Kaurvika carded 73 while her nearest rival going into the final day - Ivana - returned 83.
 

In the 25-36 handicap category, Asha Doshi finished on top by leading throughout with a tally of 301 ahead of second placed Asha Shah (311). Manisha Thakoor Bose ended up third with a three-day figure of 322.
