KCR decides to hike salaries of Village Org Assistants

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today decided to hike the salaries of Village Organization Assistants (VOA) in the state.

There are 18,405 VOAs working in the state with salaries ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1,500 per month and they are paid salaries based on the financial strength of respective Village organisation and other factors, a release from Rao's office said.

The VOAs felt that they are grossly underpaid and they had represented their case to the state government earlier, it said.

The VOAs also urged the government to pay some salary to them in addition to the wages being paid by village organizations, it said.
 

Rao, who held a meeting with VOAs here, assured that each and every VOA in the state would get a salary of Rs 5,000 per month, the release added.
