Seeking to enhance representation for women in government, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today constituted a committee to identify women leaders who can be appointed as heads of different state-run corporations.
"On the occasion of International Women's Day, the CM has taken an important decision for an increased role for women in the governance.
"The CM has decided to give nominated posts to women who took an active role in the Telangana statehood movement and also in the movement for women development," a release from CMO said.

The committee includes Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Rao's daughter and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha and Karimnagar Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, it said.
