Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today visited Kedarnath to take stock of the preparations and asked officials to expedite the work, days before commencement of the pilgrimage.
Expressing satisfaction over arrangements, he said the yatra will be even more smooth for the pilgrims than last year because a lot of work has been done to improve the condition of roads.
He also held meetings with the district administration and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering officials in Rudraprayag and asked them to focus on Sonprayag-Gaurikund stretch which is still clogged with snow.

However, he hoped that everything will fall in place by the time the yatra begins.
Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines in Garhwal Himalayas reopens after the winter break on April 21 to be followed by Kedarnath on April 24 and Badrinath on April 26.
