Keira Knightley has been engaged to musician James Righton since May last year, but the actress says she is in no hurry to rush down the aisle.
The 27-year-old British beauty admitted she never fancied herself as the marrying type, reported Daily Telegraph.
"I'm not somebody I ever thought would get married and I have to say, it's caught me unawares. I have no idea what to expect of marriage but my parents have been together for 40 years and so I suppose it's one of those things I'm going to discover," she said.
Knightley's previous relationship with fellow actor and 'Pride And Prejudice' co-star, Rupert Friend, (who stars in the TV hit 'Homeland') ended in December 2010 after five years.
"I think what's wonderful about marriage is that while you can't choose your parents, you can't choose your siblings and you can't choose your children, there is one person you can choose to be a legal member of your family. And I like the idea of that," she said.
