Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today offered all resources at the disposal of the Delhi government to Tamil Nadu in providing relief to the flood-affected people of Chennai and its suburbs.

In a letter to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Kejriwal pledged his "fullest support" to people in misery following unprecedented downpur in the southern state that has already claimed several lives.

The Delhi Chief Minister conveyed his deepest sympathies for the loss of life and property saying that his heart goes out to the people of Tamil Nadu in this hour of crisis.

"I am deeply saddened to learn about the havoc wrecked by incessant rains in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu...I also pledge my fullest support and all resources at my disposal towards any cooperation required by you in your efforts to bring relief to the affected people of your state," he said.

Chennai today turned a virtual island and several coastal areas of Tamil Nadu were marooned by flood waters after non-stop torrential rains pounded the city, its suburbs and neighbouring districts destroying crucial road and rail links, shutting the airport and rendering thousands homeless.
