Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday welcomed the judgement of the International Court of Justice which stayed the execution of Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, saying truth and justice prevailed.

"I warmly welcome the ICJ judgment staying the execution of Kulbhushan Jadhav & granting consular access to India. Truth and justice prevails. This son of our soil must be back soon with his family," Kejriwal tweeted.

In a major victory for India, the ICJ on Wednesday ruled that Pakistan must review the death sentence for Jadhav, who has been sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court.

Jadhav, 49, a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by the Pakistani military court on charges of "espionage and terrorism" after a closed trial in April 2017. His sentencing evoked a sharp reaction in India.
