: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today laid the foundation stone for the new campus of noted IT group SunTec at Technocity near here.

Vijayan expressed hope that the campus would come up within the scheduled 18 to 24 months and the government would provide all necessary support for this.

Appreciating the group's decision to build its new campus in the state capital itself, he also said it was nice to note that SunTec continued to make investments in Kerala.

There were some people who try to create problems for development projects and the government would not tolerate that and such groups would be considered anti-developmental, he said.

Nandakumar K, founder and CEO, SunTec Business Solutions, said the new campus was a dream project of the company.

"We have designed the campus in such a way that it incorporates the natural flora and environment of the region and helps us to foster creativity and innovation in our work," he said.

The campus, when completed, would be the first to have the prestigious Platinum Green Mark certification from the Singapore Building Authority.

Giving details of the project, the official said the new campus would enable SunTec to create an additional capacity for more than 1,500 software professionals.

The campus would be spread across 10 acres and would have four buildings and a clubhouse.

The buildings to be constructed in the 1st phase would be the 310,000 sq ft software development centre (which can accommodate 1,500 software professionals) and the 40,000 sq ft club house.

The campus would also house several state of the art facilities for its employees such as a swimming pool, restaurants, play areas and so on, the official added.
