Ker govt to rejuvenate industrial estates, parks

CPI(M)-led LDF government in Kerala will revive defunct industrial estates and parks across the state and create new ones as part of promoting the industrial sector at the grass-roots level, the state assembly was informed today.

Making the submission, Industries Minister E P Jayarajan said the government was collecting details of the industrial estates and parks at the panchayat level.

"We have industrial estates or parks in several panchayats. The process of collecting its details has already begun. Those, which are not operational now, will be handed over to new entrepreneurs," he said during the question hour.

He said the government wanted to promote industries, manufacturing value-added products.
 

The government was also mulling entrusting the state-run Restructuring and Internal Audit Board with the task of carrying out a study on the preservation of paddy and produce its bi-products, the minister added.
