Kerala Additional Advcoate General passes away

Kerala's Additional Advocate General P C Iype today passed away at a private hospital here following a cardiac arrest, his colleagues said.

He was 64 and survived by his wife and son.

Enrolled as a lawyer in 1979, Iype had served as Ernakulam district government pleader from 1991-1997, state attorney of Kerala government at High Court from 2001 to 2006 before being appointed as Additional Advocate General by the UDF government in 2011.

His body was kept on the premises of Advocate General's office near the High Court here for paying last respects.

The legal fraternity in the city, including judges, advocates and other staff of the High court and politicians paid their last respects to the departed soul.
 

His funeral will be held tomorrow at the cemetery of St Mary's Basilica.
