Kerala assembly monsoon session from June 10

The ninth session of the 13th Kerala assembly, mainly to pass the budget proposals for the year 2013-14, would begin on June 10.

The 28-day long session would also take up some legislative business for eight days, Speaker G Karthikeyan told reporters here today.

The session is scheduled to end on July 18.

Bills to replace seven ordinances would come up during the session, he said.

A certificate course on Parliament function and procedure would be started by the Legislative Secretariat Parliament Study Centre of the Assembly Secretariat, Karthikeyan said.

"This is first time such a course is offered by any state legislature in the country", he added.
 

Any persons who pass higher secondary or equivalent qualification could join the course, he said.

The course was planned in distance education method, he added.
