With summer advancing, Kerala cabinet today discussed the measures to be adopted during the upcoming drought season.
The Revenue Department made a presentation and it was decided to carryout out drought-relief measures in districts under the supervision of Minister's in charge of respective district.
The next cabinet would come up with more details on the matter and would work out a final form for the drought season action-plan, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters during cabinet briefing here.

The Cabinet also decided to allow local bodies to spend up to 10 per cent from their plan fund for drought-relief operations.
On other decisions, he said all welfare pension arrears till 31 December 2014 will be given at the earliest.
Sanction has been given to Kerala State Co-operatives Consumer's Federation Ltd for taking loan worth Rs 150 crore with government guarantee. This is being done to tide over the current financial constraints of Consumerfed, he said.
