Right-wing outfit Hindu Aikyavedi today said Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has assured all 'facilities' for the peaceful conduct of the 'shobha yatra', taken out as part of Sree Krishna Jayanthi celebrations in the state, on September 12.

Addressing a press meet here, E S Biju, the state general secretary of the outfit, said they had already submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and state police chief Loknath Behera in this regard.

"We have submitted the memorandum seeking permission for the Sree Krishna Jayanthi festivities and to check any parallel celebrations on the day. Based on our representation, the Chief Minister assured us all facilities to conduct the shobha yatra," he said.

He also alleged that ruling CPI-M's plan to hold parallel processions under a programme titled 'Mahatjanmangale Mathrukayakkuka' the same day was to create trouble in the state.

Meanwhile,BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekhan alleged that CPI(M) was planning to sabotage shobha yatra processions on Sree Krishna Jayanthi day by misusing the official machinery.

"Shobha yatras have been conducted in the state for the last 40 years peacefully without any law and order issues. But for the last two years,CPI(M) is deliberately trying to create hurdles for the festivities," he said in a Facebook post.

He also wanted people from all walks of life to come out against CPI(M)'s alleged move to sabotage the festivities.
