Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today hailed the Indian hockey team for clinching the historic silver medal in the prestigious Champions Trophy tournament.
He also congratulated the team captain PR Sreejesh, who hails from Kerala, for leading the team to its best ever torunamentperformance.
The Chief Minister also wished that the victory would give strength to the country's Olympic medal expectations in hockey.
"World hockey was once India's forte. The present victory which comes after an interval of that glorious past makes us more proud that Sreejesh, who is a Malayali, has led the team," he said in an official statement.
