The Kerala government today requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clear the special financial package for the revivial of public sector FACT at Kochi without dealy as the financial condition of the company has worsened.
Chief Minister Ommen Chandy in a letter to Singh pointed out that financial situation has come to such a level that entire operation of the company might come to standstill within seven days leading to closure of the company.
Chandy said FACT, the largest public sector undertaking in the state, had already submitted a comprehensive financial package and it was now pending before the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
Chandy asked Singh to take steps to provide priority approval for the financial package to FACT.
