Kerala craft and culture fair under way in Mumbai

: A 10-day culture and trade fair of Kerala got under way at CIDCO Urban Haat at Belapur in Navi Mumbai today, showcasing the best of the state's art, craft,culture and cuisine.

The show, being organised by state Information and Public Relations Department with the support of the Malayali associations in Mumbai, was inaugurated by Kerala Labour and Excise Minister T P Ramakrishnan.

Manda Vijay Mhatre, Belapur MLA, who presided.

This is the second edition of the event being organised in the Mumbai suburb, seeking to give a hands on feeling of the rich culture and traditions of Kerala to all sections of people in the metro and its adjoining areas, the organisers sid.
 

The first Kerala fair in Mumbai held in 2015 was a big success and those who visted the show included a large number of non-Keralites, along with the Malayalis in Mumbai, they said.

" Essentially, we are seeking to showcase the wide array of culture, tradition, art and cuisine of Kerala," a senior PR Department officer said.

K Amabadi, Director, PRD, Kerala, was among those spoke on the occasion.
