Kerala Film Academy to pay tribute to Celluloid Man P K Nair

Kerala Chalachitra Academy will pay tribute to legendary film archivist and founder director of National Film Archive of India (NFAI) P K Nair, who passed away in Mumbai last week.

The state-run Academy will organise a commemorate meeting here on March 14 to pay respect to Nair, who is popularly known as 'Celluloid Man' among film admirers.

An array of dignitaries including noted director Kumar Shahani, NFAI director Prakash Magdum and film critic C S Venkateswaran will participate in the programme, an Academy release said here today.

"Celluloid Man", a documentary on Nair, directed by Sivendra Singh will also be screened during the event.
 

Paramesh Krishnan Nair, alias P K Nair, who carved a niche for himself as a pioneering film archivist, died following age-related ailments at the age of 83 at a hospital in Mumbai on March 4.
