Kerala Gender Park CEO Dr P T M Sunish, who conceptualised and successfully implemented the all-women taxi cabs 'She Taxi' in the state, has been invited to a World Bank study tour on women security in public transport, scheduled to be held in Vienna next week.

The South Asia Social Development Unit of the World Bank, in collaboration with Vienna, is organising the three-day South Asia regional study tour from April 15 with an aim to improve the visibility and cross-country learning on the topic of women's mobility and security in the public transport sector.

The tour targets policy makers and transport planners from Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan in the contexts to better understand the building blocks for a successful program in integrated gender planning for transport.

The event would also pay attention on examples of gender disaggregated data collection and data use for improved gender planning, including methodologies, collection methods, big data and real time planning systems.

The technology-enabled cab 'She Taxi', launched by Gender Park under the state Department of Social Justice, is touted as the country's first 24x7 taxi network by women for women.
