Kerala Governor P Sathasivam today preferred to spend more time on the dais and at the venue during a hospital function here, skipping the protocol.
Speaking at the inauguration of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Gem Hospital here, Sathasivam said he had asked his Secretary and ADC to keep aside the rules and regulations and not to go by protocol.
Actually, the time he had to spent on the dais was from 5 PM to 6.30 PM, the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said, adding, "I have told my security to allow me to spend more time with the public."

Moreover, when he had received an e-mail some 10 days ago from Dr C Palanivelu, the chairman of the hospital, inviting him to attend the celebration, the secretary had objected, saying he has to confirm about the person, security aspect, as part of protocol.
"However, I told him nothing doing.I know the person and I have trust in him and there would be no security threat," Sathasivam, highlighting the protocol of the post of the Governor, said.
Sathasivam also said he was very punctual in the Supreme Court, occupying the chair by 10.29 AM, after going through the files with six registrars.
