The Kerala High Court today directed the state government to inform within three weeks what action it has taken against senior IPS officer Tomin Thachankery on a report filed by the Additional DGP.

Justice P Ubaid issued the order on a petition filed by Manikantan, an accused in a sex scandal case alleging that he was falsely implicated at the instigation of Thachankery, who had some land deal with him at Kanyakumari.

The petitioner sought a CBI investigation into the matter.

The court said the report of the Additional DGP Intelligence reveals 'vicious role' of Thachankery in the property transaction when he was in service as a top police official.

The state police chief had requested government to take appropriate action on the ADGP report.

The court said it was not known what action government had taken on the report and directed authorities to explain action taken on the report within three weeks.
