Kerala Government will accord top priority to developing world-class infrastructure facilities in an environment-friendly manner at all tourist destinations in the state, Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar today said.

"Government is only following a policy of environment-friendly infrastructure development," he said after laying the foundation stone for a new four-storeyed guest house at the hill resort town Munnar in Idukki district.

The state tourism department has decided to construct the additional guest house with all state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Munnar in order to offer more quality services to the tourists visiting the famous hill station.

The new building with 36 rooms in four floors will come up near the old guest house, which has only eight rooms.

The new guest house will have conference rooms, modern kitchens and a high-end restaurant.
