Kerala pledges Rs 2 crore for J-K

The Congress-led UDF Government in Kerala today decided to contribute Rs 2 crore for the relief in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir and set up a special relief fund for mobilising contributions from the public to help the state.

The decision was taken by a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, an official release said.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee had yesterday announced Rs five lakh as its contribution for relief in flood-hit areas in Jammu and Kashmir.

A meeting of the KPCC executive today called upon the party workers and sympathisers to lend all possible support for the relief and rehabilitation efforts in the state.
