A daily labourers' co-operative society founded by a social reformer of north Kerala nine decades ago is all set to turn a new chapter with its Rs 600 crore ultra-modern Cyber Park in Kozhikode district slated for inauguration by the year end.
Top officials of Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS Ltd.), founded by Guru Vagbhatananda in 1925, said work on the first green IT Park in the state had been completed and it will be opened in December.
The Cyber Park is built in 14 acres of land owned by the society in Nellikkunnu village near Kozhikode city.

He said with Cyber Park, ULCS aims to provide IT professionals of Kerala a job of global standards in their own native soil.
"This new venture is expected to generate 40,000 jobs in the field of Information Technology. It is also expected to provide job opportunities to 100,000 people indirectly," Paleri told PTI.
UL Cyberpark, the first IT Park in Kozhikode region, is developed as an IT/ITES Special Economic Zone. It is a green building and LEED certified IT Park rated for Gold standards. Officials said.
Y Abhilash, CEO of the society, recalled the UL Technology Solution's humble beginning in the field of IT just three years ago and how it entered into a multi-crore business.
"ULTS, our IT wing, was incubated 3 years ago with four professionals. Now we have over 60 employees. ULTS has already developed three products which is ready for market and has proved leadership in GIS domain and recently expanded its operations into Middle East. This is a model and success story-- how a cooperative society can incubate an IT company and make it competitive," he said.
