The sovereign ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi and the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today held discussions on various development projects which can be taken up jointly.
Vijayan along with his cabinet colleagues met Al Qasimi, who reached here yesterday on a five day visit to Kerala, at the Raj Bhavan.
Among the projects which Kerala has put forward was Sharjah Family City, which envisages construction of 10 high rise apartment towers in the gulf nation in a 10 acre land for expatriates, and an International educational complex housing public schools, engineering college, medical college, skill development centre and centre of excellence.

A cultural centre depicting Kerala's rich culture and tradition, a museum which will showcase the state's history and culture, platforms to exhibit various arts, exhibitions besides an Ayurveda hub are among those planned.
The state was targeting an investment of Rs 50,000 crore in the next four years in these areas.
IT and Tourism, are two focus areas which was expected to trigger state's financial growth.
The state was expecting Sharjah's cooperation and support for this, a press release said here.
