Kerala submits 10 point development agenda to PM

Singh, who arrived here yesterday on a two-day state visit, met Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and state ministers at around 8 PM tonight to discuss various issues relating to Kerala.

Industries minister P K Kunhalikutty and Finance Minister K M Mani later told reporters the Prime Minister had agreed to favourably consider the development agenda put forth by the state.

Union ministers from Kerala - A K Antony and K V Thomas, Prime Minister's Advisor T K A Nair and State Planning Board member K M Chandrasekhar were among those present.

The ministers also apprised Singh about the state's long pending demand and delay in getting central clearance for various projects.

 

All state ministers were present at the 20 minute meeting.

Earlier, the Prime Minister released Finance Minister K M Mani's book 'Beyond Communism: The theory of Toiling class'.

Central University of Kerala Vice-Chancellor Jancey James, Cardinal Mar George Alanchery, four cadets of the Student Police and students from the National Institute of Speech and hearing met the Prime Minister.
