Kerala to have four more Ayurveda dispensaries

Kerala is set to be completely covered by the Ayurveda system of treatment following the government's decision to start Ayurveda dispensaries in four more panchayats.

The cabinet today decided to start Ayurveda dispensaries at Idamalakudi, Kantaloor, Kanchiyar and Veliyamattom, all in Idukki district.

"With this, all panchayats in the state will have government Ayurveda centres," Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters here.

On the sick Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd, (FACT), he said the government would provide all the required support for the renovation of the company, one of the oldest establishments of the Centre in Kerala.

A financial package for the revival of FACT was under consideration, he added.
 

The state government has been asked by the Union government to take a relaxed stand on matters of tax, which the state government will oblige in a positive manner, Chandy said.
