The ambitious seaplane project of Kerala government, linking major tourist destinations in the state, will be launched next month, Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar today said.

In the first phase, the project would be launched in Ernakulam, Bolgatty, Alapuzha and Thiruvananthapuram, he said after inaugurating the Visitor Facilitation Centre (VFC), an initiative of the District Tourism Promotion Council here.

The VFC will function as a one-stop shop for all travel and tourism services, which includes railway reservation, foreign exchange services, inbound and outbound tourism services.

Union Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs K V Thomas, who was the chief guest, said the state required tourism which ensured heritage conservation.

The state government had sanctioned Rs seven crore for development of infrastructure for the project last year.
