The key accused in last month's attack by Yuva Morcha activists on a hotel in Kozhikode for alleged immoral activities, sparking off the 'Kiss of Love' Programme by Facebook users against moral policing, has been arrested here, police said

Prakash Babu, State Yuva Morcha General secretary, was arrested here yesterday, they said.

Police, acting on a tip off, had boarded the train along with Babu at Vadakara. When the train reached Tirur, they told him he was being arrested. He was later taken to Kozhikode for questioning.

On October 29, Yuva morcha activists had vandalised the restaurant, alleging that immoral activities were being held there, prompting Facebook users to call for the programme to protest against the vandalism.

The 'Kiss of Love' campaign, call was given by group of "Free Thinkers", led by short film maker Rahul Pasupalan, to come to Marine drive in Kochi on Nov 2 to hug and kiss each other.

However the event turned out to be a damp squib as police detained the organisers and sympathisers, including women, even before they could reach the venue.
