Garment manufacturer KGI Clothing will set a production unit with an investment of Rs 12 crore at Sri City Special Economic Zone near here.

The plant would produce garments for men and women. About Rs 12 crore would be invested in the project, a company statement said, adding that KGI Clothing Managing Director Anurag Goyenka performed the ground breaking ceremony of the plant today.

Stating that the facility would employ about 450 people and 75 per cent of them would be women, Goyenka said the location and infrastructure made them to select the Sri City SEZ for setting up the unit.

The factory, spread across two acre land, is expected to be commissioned by the end of this year, the statement said.
